FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • It’s new for you and your baby, whether or not it’s not your first baby. Baby has never breastfed before and you’ve never been a mother to this baby before. Baby’s position during pregnancy, birth, and beyond can affect their ability to breastfeed efficiently. The story of how your labor and birth went can affect your ability to breastfeed comfortably. Meeting with me can help assure you what you are doing right and help with anything that is not going smoothly for you and your baby.

  • Difficulty nursing can be a result of tensions and restrictions in the baby’s head, spine, or body. CST helps release and relax those areas, making breastfeeding more comfortable and easier.

  • The pressure applied to a baby receiving CST is about what you feel if you place a nickel in your palm. Babies usually enjoy it, and may even sleep through it.

  • Breastfeeding in public is legal in all 50 states.

Specific to Arizona, there are 2 laws that pertain to your rights to breastfeed:

Ariz. Rev. Stat. Ann § 13-1402 (2006) specifies that indecent exposure does not include an act of breastfeeding by a mother.

Ariz. Rev. Stat. Ann § 41-1443 (2006) entitles a mother to breastfeed in any public place or place of public accommodation where the mother is otherwise lawfully present.
